This is the complete and step by step guidelines about the flashing procedure. We have broken down each step and explained it in a simplified way. Flashing the stock firmware means installing new firmware on your device. That’s why people call it flashing the device or flashing the stock firmware. However, to do that, you will need the firmware file along with the flash tool.

When the Android smartphone starts malfunctioning or, in the worse case, dead or bricked, then you have to flash the stock firmware to fix it. That means deleting the infected firmware and installing a new one. So you need to download the latest stock firmware matching your handset model. However, installing and deleting the stock firmware on an Android device is not like Windows software. You have to use a specialized tool called the flash tool. Different smartphone brands have various flash tools.

To flash the active or running device, you can use a brand-specific flash tool. But if the device is dead or bricked, then these flash tools will not work. In that case, you have to use the chipset-based flash tool. For flashing Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered firmware, you can use the Qualfast tool. Step 2: Download and Install Qualcomm USB Driver

A USB driver is an all-in-one software program for Windows PC that allows desktop computers to detect the connected device. However, you must install the correct USB driver. If you want to connect a Qualcomm powered phone to a PC, you will need to download and install the device-specific driver or Qualcomm USB driver corresponding to the device models. Luckily, we have listed all available USB drivers for Qualcomm phones based on models.

Step 3: Install and Launch Qualfast Tool

The Qualfast Tool is our favorite tool when we recommend flashing the stock ROM. The user interface is easy for everyone. We have posted about Qualfast Tool on our site. Now, Download Qualfast Tool Latest version and extract the zip file. After extracting, you will get the setup file. Now double click on the setup file and install it by following the on-screen instructions. After installing this flash tool correctly, launch this tool.

Step 4: Load Firmware File

When the flash tool is launched, click on the “SEL PATH” option and locate the firmware files from the firmware folder. When you have loaded and added the flash file, the AP Path in the tool is set automatically, and the info boxes will turn blue.

Step 5: Put your Qualcomm Device in AP Mode and connect to the PC

Switch off your device and press power + volume down + home to enter AP mode. However, a few older phones use a different button combination. After entering your device to AP mode, connect the device to the PC using a USB data cable.

Step 6: Flash the Stock ROM

After connecting the device to the PC, click on the “OK” button to begin the flashing process. The whole flashing process usually takes 10-15 minutes, depending on the speed, and your device will take a few extra minutes to reboot. After rebooting the device, you will see the new ROM is running. However, after installing the latest firmware, you cannot go back to the old firmware. When the flashing is completed, a green tick mark will show up on the screen.

Step 9: Close the Flash Tool and Disconnect the Qualcomm Device

When you see the green tick mark, you are done. Using this simple tool, you have completed flashing the device accurately. Now close the flash tool on your Windows desktop and disconnect the smartphone.

Warning: As you have already known that flashing requires expertise to perform the process correctly. If anything goes wrong, you may brick your device. Also, flashing wipes out everything from the phone. So before flashing or rooting the device, take a full backup. Also, we recommend knowing everything steps you are making.
