What Samsung PIT file?

Samsung PIT file is the acronym for Partition Information Table. Each Samsung Galaxy device has a custom PIT file. It contains the partition tables that have all the essential information for each required partition. The partition info includes block size, block count, partition name, and other mandatory technical fields. To successfully flash the Samsung Galaxy device, you have to download the matching PIT files and the other tool.

However, another confusing issue is that we have mentioned each Samsung device has one unique PIT file. But a few specific models have multiple PIT files; these files come with different names like s1_odin_20100512.pit or s1_odin_20100513.pit.

What Does the PIT file do?

The main task of the PIT file is to re-partition your device stock firmware. It allocates memory in the firmware of your Samsung Galaxy smartphone and tables for the stock ROM to be written to. This file does not upgrade the Samsung devices or will not increase the performance of your phone. It will also not add any new feature to your Galaxy device; it only assigns temporary memory of your device for the ‘/system’ partition and ‘/dbdata’ partition on the stock firmware. Most importantly, it creates partition in the segments such as EFS, SBL, SBL2, PARAM, KERNEL, RECOVERY, FACTORYFS, DBDATAFS, CACHE, and MODEM.

Now you know what PIT files are and why do you need them. Let’s dive into the download part. In the following amount, we will share the latest and updated PIT files for all models.
